What Is The Best Leave-In Conditioner For 4b/4c Natural Hair?

Source

The answer to that question may not be as simple as you think. Choosing the right conditioner for your hair type requires more time than you think. Some of us like to experiment with different hair products before we can find the one, but some of us would rather spend more time at the store reading the ingredient labels instead of spending too much money on hair products. I personally love to take my time and read the ingredients. There are a lot of great leave-in conditioners out there. So the best way to find the right one is to be familiar with the ingredients in the product.

Ingredients: Aqua (purified water), Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopheraol (Vitamin E), Panthenol
(Pro-Vitamin B5), Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Natural Fragrance, Citrus Grandis
(Grapefruit) Extract, *Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, *Helianthus annuus
(sunflower) seed oil, *Glycine soja (soybean) seed extract, *Betula alba (Birch)
extract, *Malva sylvestris (mallow) extract, *Achillea millefolium extract, *Chamomilla
recutita (matricaria) flower extract, *Equisetum arvense extract, *Lavandula
angustifolia (lavender) extract, *Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract,
*Salvia sclarea (clary) extract, *Thymus vulgaris (thyme) extract, *Tussilago farfara
(coltsfoot) flower extract, *Urtica dioica (nettle) extract

Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner is  one of my favorite conditioners. Above are the ingredients in the product. When reading a product label, make sure you pay attention to the first  ingredients on the label. Water should always be the very first ingredient in the product, which means the product is water based, not oil. Look for natural oils and leaves. They may have chemical names, but some companies will provide their original names in
( ).  Now for those of you with 4b /4c hair, look for thick, (creamy) leave-in conditioners that can penetrate the hair shaft without weighing the hair down. Avoid products that contain mineral oil and petroleum, as they can stop the other ingredients from penetrating the hair shaft. You can also use homemade leave-in conditioners made with all natural ingredients. Whatever conditioner you choose to use, make sure it is creamy enough; so you can get the best results.

I too oftentimes read the product ingredients and also love to try natural products to put into my hair instead of hopping into an expensive salon. 🙂
