Wash Day:: Using Protein Again And Learing From My Mistakes

Hi guys! I bought at least two more Alberto V05 products this week. I need to stop reading reviews about this brand or I will end up having only V05 products on my shelves. Alberto V05 Moisture Milks Moisturizing conditioner can also be used as a leave-in conditioner when mixed with some water. You can also leave it on your hair for as long as you need for some deep conditioning.  That’s how good this little miracle is, you guys! I used it during my wash  to help with the protein/moisture balance.

#WashDayExperience

Deep Conditioning:: Right after oiling my scalp with my oil mix, I sprayed my hair with plain water to make detangling easier. I applied my Africa’s Best Hair Mayonnaise to my ends only. I know, me and protein again! Seriously, my ends needed it.

Shampooing:: I used  Matrix Biolage HydraSource shampoo to wash out the oil from my scalp. I only had to go once and I diluted it with some warm water.

Conditioning:: I added a generous amount of Alberto V05 Moisture Milks Moisturizing Conditioner to my hair after rinsing my scalp with some black tea. I left it on for about 15 minutes under a plastic cap and a warm towel.

Drying:: T-shirt dry for about 15 minutes before adding my moisturizer

Moisturizing:: Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream works so well on my hair. I really don’t have to use extra oil after using it because it is infused with Argan oil. I tried not to use too much because I can feel the oil on my fingers if I do.

That’s what my hair looks like after a good wash day, no blow drying necessary.  That’s after twisting it and using satin rollers to get some curls. Lol! I did not use any setting cream or lotion, in my defense.

 The scarf

I discovered the art of  hand knitting yesterday and I made this scarf using my two hands only, no knitting needles. I tried going outside to get some good pictures, but it was already too dark. I kept the scarf on, and these are the best pictures that I could take with the funny lights in my bathroom.

I did a light protein treatment, followed by some serious conditioning with a moisturizing conditioner.
And I must tell you, it worked this time around.  In case you didn’t know, there is such a thing as over-moisturizing your hair.  This hair journey is a big experiment for me.  I am learning so much from my mistakes. The first mistake that I made with my hair was using heat without a heat tamer. I knew I needed to, but it was just one of these things that you do and think you can get away with. The second mistake was the over-use of protein on my hair. And the third mistake was not taking good care of my hair while wearing braids and other extensions. And you know what’s funny? I am still learning! I hope you had a wonderful wash day.

I didn't know the VO5 moisture milk could be used as a leave in. Off to check if I still have some in my stash.

The journey never really ends. I think that's my favorite part! There is always something new to learn with your hair. How many twist and curls did you install to get these curls? It's super cute. Did your curls last all day?

Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

Girl, I wish! My curls do not last all day. I think I had about 30 twists. I did not count. Sorry:-)

You are so right. What works for other people hasn't been working for me. So I have to learn my mistakes.
