The most challenging part of getting ready for the wash day experience is finding a hairstyle to share with you guys. I try to find protective styles that can last me a week, but I always end up messing it up. Sometimes it is just because I use too many pins and they feel uncomfortable, or the hair is braided too tight. Today’s hairstyle was very easy to create. I used about two packs of 100% Kanekalon Marley hair to achieve it. It sounds like it’s a lot, but you know they don’t put enough hair in the packs these days. I washed my hair and made sure it was moisturized before doing it because I want this style to last at least one week.
Wash Day Experience
{1} I used castor oil mixed with a few drops of peppermint oil to massage my scalp. I left it on overnight.
{2} I used TREsemme moisture rich shampoo to wash my scalp.
{3} I quickly conditioned my hair with Alberto V05 Passion Fruit Smoothie moisturizing conditioner.
{4} My Pantene Truly natural has been okay on my hair , so I keep using it to deep condition it.
{5} I dried my hair with a T-shirt for a few minutes.
{6} Moisturizing with Scurl “No Drip” Activator Moisturizer keeps my hair softer longer, a good way for me to have enough moisture for this hairstyle.
{7} I added some extra virgin olive oil mixed with Jamaican black castor oil to seal the moisture in.
Hair of The Week
I did my hair the next day. I used some Eco Styler gel to help my edges stay in place. The middle part was created with two loose braids going in circle. As you can see, I added three flat twists in the front to create the side bang. I think this hairstyle can last me until the next wash day if I wrap my hair before going to bed at night.
