STYLE | Blocks, Colors, Color Blocking

Color blocking your way to a chic outfit this season doesn’t require a scientific formula. There was a time when paying attention to how you mix and match colors was a big deal. Now,  a combination of colors that does not hurt the eye is totally acceptable by most fashion designers and fashionistas alike. My idea of color blocking is to pair one cool color with a warm color, then add a darker or lighter shade of either color. Simple, right?

STYLE | Blocks, Colors, Color Blocking

Happy new week everyone! How was your weekend? Fall is settling in nicely. But I have a feeling winter will be brutal. Don’t say I did not warn you. Last week was a little busy. Hubby took a few days off from work and the kids were on fall break. We spent a lot of time with them, and that kept me away from the blog. But I am back with an outfit post. I am re-branding and I will have more outfit and fashion related posts on the blog.
My outfit this week is very simple. The weather was warm enough for a dress, but a cardigan was still necessary. Blue is a color that grew on me. I like it because it can be paired with a lot of other colors. But even if I did not like blue at all, this dress would make me. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Thanks for your kind comments. I wish you a great week ahead!

Good Morning lovely!!! Yes, these are some of my favourite colours you've colour blocked with, love this outfit!! And you suit these colours so much, amazing on you :))) Autumn here has been on and off. Some days bad rain and other days, it's gorgeous. Getting quite cold, I fear winter will be brutal as well, but I guess we'll have to see. Will need to wrap up well regardless. Have a gorgeous start to the week my dear xx

Back in the day people would think one is clashing. Not anymore. Infact people would say 'I like how you play with colors' haha. But jokes apart I do like how you play with colors. Color blocking beautifully done. You burgundy sweater is so trendy. It's raining today or at least it sprinkled earlier. I love rain so I am a happy camper. Beautiful eyelet details on that dress. I'm excited for your fashion posts although I'll miss your expert opinion on products but I'm sure you'll have those too every once in a while at least. Happy Monday darling!

The color blocking style can be very tricky for me , I like to tread lightly when I style them ,I really love how you styled this look and I hope it continues to stay slightly warmer . I'm still drooling over your hair .

I'm not looking forward to colder weather so I hope you are wrong about Winter. The eyelet detailing on your dress is gorgeous. I think the shades of blue you picked work well for color blocking. I've also found that the blue of your shoes is a color that can work as a neutral and pull a look together. Have a great week too!

Love that dress!!!! I'm hoping this winter isn't too bad. Our fall is still pretty warm in Arkansas. Our highs are still in the 80s. I'm hoping it stays that way for a while.
