REVLON Super Lustrous (Violet Frenzy) Lipstick REVIEW

A few days  ago, while visiting  my local Kroger  store, this lipstick by REVLON caught my  eyes. You can give me purple lipsticks  all year long, and I will never tell you that I have enough. I love them. Well, let’s  see if this one lived up to my expectations!

REVLON Super Lustrous (Violet Frenzy) Lipstick REVIEW

How REVLON describes the product

Colorburst lip butter combines beautiful color with a buttery
balm to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. It has a pampering gel
formula which glides on lips buttery smooth and instantly hydrates
lips.

About the Product

  • Pampering gel formula glides on lips buttery smooth and instantly hydrates lips
  • Medium coverage color with a high shine finish
  • Mango butter, Shea butter and coconut butter naturally boosts lip moisture
  • Gives balm like feel to lips, making lips feel soothed, pampered, and conditioned

My opinion

Wearing  this lipstick  is like wearing  a colorful  lip balm. I say that in the most respectful  way because  I  really  love the moisture  it provides. The lipstick  is not highly  pigmented  and it wears off rather quickly. But,  I love how creamy  it is and how smoothly  it glides  on the lips. The color is a pinkish purple with medium intensity. I’m only wearing  one coat, as you can see above. I think the shimmering finish is beautiful. One thing I love about creamy lipsticks is that they rarely enhance flaws. My only problem is that I need at least 3 coats to achieve the color shown in the tube. As I was writing the post, my daughter looked at the picture and said, “Well, your lips look soft!”. The lipstick definitely provided instant moisture.Pros
  • Super duper moisturizing
  • Does not enhance flaws
  • Affordable ($5.99)
  • Beautiful color
  • Nice finish

Cons

  • Bleeds a little
  • The color does not last
What’s the bottom line? If you are a lipstick lover and your lips crack a lot, this is the perfect lipstick for this season. You can use a lip pencil to make it last a little longer, or you can just re-apply it after you eat. I personally think that it is good for the price. What do you think? Do my lips look soft?

Your lips do look very soft. Too bad the color isn't more intense, but it still looks great on you. I'm like you I like purple lip colors.

I also have a lipstick from Revlon and the color is so sheer and requires more than one coat to get the color of the tube. It looks nice and soft on you. I'm a sucka for purple and red lippies.

I'm surprised by the color payoff! I haven't tried Revlon in a really long time. I would think they would market this as a lip balm instead of a lipstick. Very interesting.

I love the purple shade on you! I've been wearing nudes all winter long but got a purple one from Maybelline.
