My Summer Vacation Hairstyle and Maintenance

Hello everyone! How was your 4th of July? Mine went well. We took the kids to see the fireworks on Monday. I did not want to go at first because of my fear of a big crowd, then I decided it was the right thing to do to overcome my fear. There was a local band playing different genre of music before the fireworks and we all had a lot of fun.

My Summer Vacation Hairstyle and Maintenance

So, tell me. How do you style your hair when you go on vacation? Do you pack any hair products? Do you think about the salt in the ocean? Or the chlorine in your pool? I was not really thinking about any of this when I packed for my last vacation. But I did put my hair in a protective style. I spent less time manipulating my hair and more time enjoying my vacation. During my little getaway, I rinsed my hair with warm water everyday after leaving the beach and the pool. I did not fully wash my hair until I got back home. Did I cause any damage to my hair? I don’t know yet because my hair is still in a protective style.

How I washed my hair

After a long day of hiking while visiting Amicalola falls, I got in the shower and rinsed my hair with warm water. I shampooed with a sulfate free shampoo because I did not have any intention of deep conditioning my hair. I then sprayed my hair with OGX Moroccan Sea Salt spray on my twists because it supposed to add shine. Remember Luster’s pink lotion? I got my hands on a small travel size bottle when I went to my local pharmacy. I applied some to my  hair and  scalp after my hair was dry enough. My hair still feels moisturized. And it still smells good too.

Your hair held up well Nerline. That is really something to think about (protecting your hair for vacation). A lot of people don't think about that. YOu really made me think. Excellent post.

Nerline, your hair looks great! TBH, on vacays, I don't really put much attention to my hair, as in I don't really do anything:P

    Hi Nerline,

You left a comment about my article in Healthy Moms Magazine and I replied. For some reason it didn't go through, twice. So I decided to leave a reply here.

The story is true about the invisible coat rack and this man's teeth in his mid sixties were also amazing. I have seen so many mouths in my career. When I see young teeth in a senior citizen, it looks so odd. I will always ask how one controls stress because it is stress, mind and body stress, that will harm our teeth and our general well-being.

I write these articles for Healthy Moms Magazine to share and your comment means a lot to me. It is worth it even if only one reads it.

Writing this comment also reminds me of the 1960's. I was stationed at Fort McPherson and lived just outside of town for a little over a year. It was my first stay in Atlanta and boy did I have fun with your Georgia peaches and their southern hospitality. I hope this is politically correct, when ever I think of those days and all those really nice people I met in Atlanta. These lyrics from a Lynard Skinard song always comes up, "I love your peaches, want to shake your tree."

Hope you are having a great July day in beautiful Georgia.

    Thanks again,

    Dr. T. K. Stone

Your twists look great! Definitely a perfect option for vacation hair. I got some of the Luster's products in my last COCOTIQUE box & I'm excited to try them again.
