Maple Holistics Assuage Mild Styling Hair Gel

Maple Holistics hair gel is sounds so healing. When the company contacted me about reviewing one of their products, I got so curious about their Assuage Gel that they sent me two products instead of one. It’s not everyday that you find a gel that’s made with mostly natural products and keeps the hair protected. A hair gel that I can safely use on my daughter’s hair.

The gel has a clear, watery consistency. It goes very light on the hair and does not weight it down. It is hard to escape the scent coming from the ingredients in the gel. You can tell that the product is made from natural ingredients because of its natural scent. It is so easy to wash the gel out from the hair because it is not heavy at all.

This gel provides a light hold while keeping the hair shiny and very strong. It takes a lot to give my curls a good definition, but when I used this gel after using their Silk18 Conditioner, my twists came out looking shinier without any flaky residue.

Formula and Benefits of this hair gel.

Ginseng Root and Sage Leaf Extract: The forefront of the
formula wields these two powerful agents of nature to overall protect,
strengthen, and promote healthy hair.

Bergamot: 100% Pure Italian Bergamot essential oil
aromatically enhances the hair gel with its sweet, fruity aroma and soft
floral qualities. Bergamot also hosts an impressive amount of naturally
anti-septic and anti-bacterial properties.

Golden Jojoba: Pure and unadulterated Golden Jojoba oil helps
moisturize the hair while effectively reducing hydral fatigue, which is
the swelling and shrinking of hair as it gets wet and dries. Hydral
fatigue can damage the hair follicle over time, and is a common
occurence that can be a side effect of unhealthy haircare products.
Jojoba is a primary component towards decreasing hydral fatigue while
repairing and nourishing the hair in a positive, healthy manner.

Indications
Choose whether to style with a comb or use your
fingers. Generally, using a comb will result in a hairstyle that is
sleek and structured, whereas using your fingers results in a wavy,
natural look.

Ingredients
INGREDIENTS: Signature Mild
Hair Gel, Ginseng Root Extract, Sage Leaf Extract, Simmondsia chinensis
(Jojoba) Oil, Citrus bergamia (Bergamot) Oil.

Directions
A little goes a long way with this hair gel. Dispense a small amount, apply to hair and
style accordingly. Make sure to first pick a direction before applying
the hair gel. Most hairstyles have a primary direction – straight down,
forward, back, up, or to the side.

My opinion about this hair gel

Pros

  • Provides shine
  • No flaky residue
  • Does not weight the hair down
  • Easy to apply and wash out
  • Strengthens the hair
  • Works as promised

Cons

  • Not a big fan of the packaging.

The bottom line about this hair gel

I think this product will work great on your hair if you have loose, type 2-3 hair. I think it is a miracle in a bottle if you are a big fan of  just washing your hair and going about your business. It is also a good product to add to the hair if you are going to let it air dry while it is braided or twisted. Like I mentioned before,  my twist-out definitely looked better after using that gel. But my 4c hair type could only hold the curls for one day.  If you are looking for a gel that’s going to give you a maximum hold, this is not the right gel for you. But if you are looking for a hair gel with a light hold that will also keep your hair strong and shiny while protecting it against Hygral Fatigue, then you’ve found the right gel. My problem with the packaging is the fact that it is hard to squeeze the gel out. It is probably due to the hole being too small. Other than that, I’m very satisfied with the product itself.

Team type 4. Amazing how a lot of the products won't work as well with type 4. Great review.

It sounds like a pretty decent product Nerline. Lightweight. They should make the hole larger, if the product is thicker. But overall, pretty good 🙂 I was laughing at your comment about the croissants! LOL You are too funny.

This sounds like something for me, because I am far too lazy to do anything else but wash, that's why I am still at the fructies thingy 😉 I just love 2in1, saves time and trouble. Your hair looks very shiny, Nerline. Great review as always. Happy Monday sweetie pie.
