Jamaican Black Castor Oil has so many health benefits. This review is to highlight some of these benefits for you. While the oil is great for the skin and hair growth, there are also some side effects to keep in mind when using Jamaican black castor oil. Tropic isle’s living Jamaican black castor oil is a rich, light brown oil which is processed the old-fashioned way by roasting the castor bean. According to researchers, natural castor oil originally came to Jamaica from slaves taken from Africa. Jamaican elders didn’t waste any time in discovering the various uses for this oil. Black castor oil is a great addition to any hair or skin care regimen. This is a good oil to add your favorite hair products. It can also be used on infants and children.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil Review
My opinion
My favorite way to use the product is when I leave it on my hair overnight. Applying the product this way works best for me. I put a plastic cap on and wrap my hair with a head scarf. I use it that way for two reasons. Number one, I don’t have to walk around with my hair smelling bad. Number two, I think the heat generated by my body with the help of the plastic cap helps the product penetrate both the cuticles and follicles. I usually rinse my hair the next morning after using the product. This method gets done about twice a week, and the results are incredible!

I swear by it.
I just bought this product as a result of all the great reviews on hair growth… I'm looking to use this for a hot oil treatment. The smell is interesting but the same can be said about other proven products such as Glovers Mane just to take you back. Mo Hair!!!
Believe me, you will get your money's worth.
I really like this Jamaican Black Castor Oil. It is a very thick oil and it isnt runny at all.
I am so glad that I discovered JBCO. My hair is thickening and growing so well. There are great products with JBCO including the hair pomade, growth treatment, and mixtures with coconut oil or lavender oil. Since using products with JBCO as the first ingredient, my hair is longer, thicker, and shinier. Excellent products!!!
Its prefect for keeping my NUBIAN PRINCESS ahead of her time…..My 4yr old has great strong hair have been using it on her since age 2..
My ancestors in Africa used to make this oil and use it often; especially when preparing brides for marriage and had to be hidden and massaged for a month. Now I read about ricin and I cannot understand. Is thee Black Castor Oil safe or what? I am in Canada and I imported it from Uganda, made the same way the Jamaicans make it…..roast the bean first……just like all our African ancestors prepared it.
It's been doing good on my hair.
I swear by this product. I was a skeptic and thought it would not do anything for me, but I tried it and I must admit it is doing wonders for me. I had been suffering with an underactive thyroid gland for years, but at the time I did not know it. It left me with no edges at all. This condition causes you to lose hair. My edges were clean and smooth like the back of my hand. Anyway, I was diagnosed with it around 2004, but as of last year I had blood work drawn and was found that I know longer have it. But, I still had no edges. Well I read online that Jamaican Black Castor Oil regrows hair, and believe me I have tried some of everything. I went to my local beauty supply store, and asked for it, and it was only $7.95. Cheap….. beats getting a hair transplant.
I started using it in June of this year. Truthfully, I would use it in the morning, and every night. I would also thoroughly oil my entire scalp and hair with it after shampooing, and let it air dry. I used to have extremely dry flaky scalp too, because of the thyroid condition. I don't have it like I used to. I use it every where I have extremely dry skin, too. I have always wanted to get my hair cut down close to my scalp, but because of my edges I wouldn't dare. Now I can, and feel good about how my hair looks.
