When it comes to fashion, we each have our own style and different ways of dealing with body issues. Just because you gained a little weight, that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your sexy side. I have been through at least 3 different sizes in the passed 3 years. It got to a point where I wouldn’t go anywhere without covering my arms. Then I realized that I don’t have to be a certain size to stay true to my own fashion style. If I focus on my best features, the rest will take care of itself.
How To Stay True To Your Own Fashion Style
Remember who you are and who you are dressing for
A sudden change in your size does not change who you are as a person. Dressing for yourself first is very important. I like to dress conservatively, but I also like to wear short shorts during the summer. I will not let a little weight get in the way of that. The important thing is to not try to squeeze into a size 6 when you are a size 12.
Don’t put any limitations on yourself and don’t get intimidated by new trends
With all the styles coming and going, it’s easy to lose yourself or stress over what you can and cannot wear. There are no limitations to the styles that you can wear. If it’s made in your size, you can rock it!
Find inspirations around you
Who inspires you? Just because somebody inspires you that does not mean you have to copy that person. You can create your own style without imitating anybody. Your inspiration should help you stay true to who you are, not transform you into a totally different person. Create a pinterest board of the styles that you like to wear. You can also keep these styles in mind when you go shopping, this way you can remember to buy accessories like a belt or a scarf to complete your look.
Stay Confident
Do high heels make you feel more confident? Confidence is something that should always be there, whether you are wearing high heels or not. But accessories like a hat, a nice pair of sunglasses or high heels can help us boot it. But no matter what you wear, if you don’t wear it confidently , it will show. If you want anybody to check you out, you have to check yourself first, especially before leaving the house.
I love this post!! I like how body positive it is and a good reminder to be intimidated to try new things! You have a new follower <3 Have a lovely day!

Very well said Nerline. There is really nothing wrong when our bodies change with time. The key is to style our bodies beautifully and confidently at any size we find ourselves. I used to be able to strut around the entire day in four to six inches heel years ago but these days, my max is two hours!…Lol
Also my arms are now twice their size..😃
I love your outfit; that skirt is beautiful and thanks for this Post.

I will sis. LOL. Thanks.
I like that you are dressing for yourself, it’s the best way to let your true self shine through the clothes. For me it’s something that makes me feel good, the way I express my mood. I don’t follow all trends just ones that I completely adore. Also I like what you said about size, and it’s something that I don’t actually think about much. My weight fluctuates also from time to time, but if I just go with what feels good and comfortable I always feel and look confident. I love what I wear even if no-one else does, lol!! Sending you loads of love sis. By the way I love the Dashiki Kimono dress you wore, total Goddess!!

Awww! Thanks sis. I love that dress too.
Before I had kids my stomach was flat and I did not hesitate to tuck my shirt into my pants. However, post kids my tummy is not flat. I have tried my best to avoid tucking in shirts for the past 10 years. But I’m going to try to challenge myself to make a pair of paper bag pants this fall/winter and I will tuck my shirt into them. 😊

I am glad you understand the struggle, Sonya. Thanks for sharing sis.
I love that your rockin’ it in Confidence Sis. That’s my mantra. If the size on the label bothers you cut it off before you hang it in your closet.
