Crochet wigs are all over YouTube these days. When I told you that I will have a Crochet Wig tutorial with 100% Kanekalon Marley hair next month, I had no idea that the month was going to be here so fast. Aren’t you excited that spring is almost here? The only thing I am not looking forward to is the pollens. Other than that, I think I am ready! As you can see above, I am still rocking my big Afro wig. You will get to see the finished product below because I promised you last week that I was going to try to make the hair look smaller. Today I will show you how I made the wig. My wash day experience was the same as last week. Now let’s see how I made the wig!

How To Make A Crochet Wig With Marley Hair
What you will need for this crochet wig:
- Net wig cap (or stocking wig cap with holes)
- Crochet needle
- 100% Kanekalon Marley Hair
- Styrofoam wig head
- Scissors + perm rods
- Towel
- Hot water
Follow these easy steps to create your crochet wig:
-
- Make sure the net wig cap is securely attached to the wig head. Use ball head straight pins to keep the cap in place.
- Push the crochet needle through three holes to have enough threads to hold the hair.
- Attach the hair to the hook, close the latch, pull the hair through, and create a lark’s head knot to secure the hair to the cap. The amount of hair you use depends on how big you want the wig to be.
- Comb the hair through after you are done installing it.
- Boil enough water before installing the perm rods.
- Set the hair with perm rods and dip in hot water.
- Sing “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know dear how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.” once before you remove the perm rod from the hot water. Change the water when necessary.
- Dry each perm rod with a towel before removing them.
- Cut the hair as needed, then style.
- Voila! You have a crochet wig
Hair of the week
I hope you find this tutorial easy enough. Leave your questions in the comment box below if you have any. Please tag me if you try to make this wig yourself. I would love to see how creative you can get! Now tell me, which hair do you like better, the before or the after?
It simply needs to be wrapped around the head either on top of a regular wig cap or directly to the hair. Make sure to cleanse your hairline with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. Straight lace front Wigs
I honestly like your natural hair better. Looks good either way though.
