If you struggle with keeping your natural hair moisturized, you are not the only one. Keeping our hair moisturized during any season can be a challenge. The products that worked for our hair during the winter, may not work during spring or summer time. And being a woman with low porosity, 4c coily hair can make things even harder. We have to do a little extra to make certain products work for our hair. When I started my natural hair journey back in 2012, there were not a lot of products formulated for our hair type. Most women with natural hair became DIY MIX-tresses in their own kitchens, mixing oils and Shea butter to make products suitable for their tresses. But now we have options! I get excited every time a company creates a product that contains natural ingredients and is suitable for curly hair! That’s why I went to my local Family Dollar to check out the new NATURAL SHEA BUTTER & PURE COCONUT OIL line by SUAVE Professionals. Yes I said Family Dollar! You know that means these products are affordable!

A little hair background

I had a tapered cut two years ago and totally hated it. The biggest mistake that I made since I became natural was overloading my hair with protein. That resulted in my hair feeling dry and breaking badly. So, I decided to cut it! You probably didn’t even notice that I cut my hair because I did not wear it out much. But with the help of protective styling and the right products, I was able to grow my hair back very fast.   By looking at my before and after pictures here, you can tell Suave had some Natural Sisters in their kitchen! My curly sistas know we hate that crunchy feeling we get after shampooing. My hair did not feel coated like it does with other sulfate-free shampoos. It felt soft, manageable, and ready for the conditioner.

How To Get The Best Out of Your Hair Conditioner

I have been using this conditioner as a 10-minute deep conditioner, and it’s been working for me. Y’all know two minutes is not enough time for the conditioner to get it’s job done on 4c, low porosity hair! As you can see, the conditioner is very thick. Using a little heat will help you get the best out of it.

drying , setting, and keeping the hair moisturized

The Leave-In Conditioner was my next step, before adding the Curl Defining Cream. But let me tell ya, I had an Aha moment after applying this leave-in conditioner to my hair! I was like,  girl I know your secret, but my price is better than yours! The softness was incredible! This leave-in conditioner keeps my hair moisturized for days! I love the consistency because it’s not too heavy. You can always use your favorite oil to seal the moisture in if you want your hairstyle to last longer. The cream Detangler Spray is my go-to product for when I need to refresh my curls between washes. I also use it as a hair moisturizer for my nighttime routine. I noticed that it works better on my hair when it’s wet. So, I use it after spraying my hair with water and before adding my favorite oil mix. Finding the right natural hair products is not easy, especially when it comes to keeping our hair moisturized.  That’s why I was shocked after using the new Natural Shea Butter & Pure Coconut Oil line by SUAVE Professionals. These products had my curls popping! The best part is I can find them at my local FAMILY DOLLAR! I am glad FAMILY DOLLAR offers the same high-quality products as other stores, but at a lower price. And now, you can save even more when shopping at Family Dollar by using Family Dollar Smart Coupons.

Nerline!!! Your hair looks so good, sis! And how did I not know you had a tapered cut two years ago? Your hair grew back very quickly! These products are awesome and I thank you for sharing how you keep your hair moisturized by using them. I think from now on I will start leaving my conditioner in longer with a heated cap.
