Fitness Friday:: My Experience With Shaklee 180 Energizing Smoothie Mix

Hello Everyone! We made it to another Friday. Yay! So, you guys know that I am on that weight loss journey, right? Well, if you are new to this blog, you probably don’t know that. When I got offered to try this Shaklee 180 Energizing Mix, I was so excited because I am always on the look out for something that works. To tell you the truth, I really don’t like to drink my breakfast. I love my breakfast to be solid. I love to have eggs and bacon in the morning because protein is the first thing that comes to mind when I eat in the morning. This drink is rich in protein, another reason that got me interested in trying it.

Shaklee 180 is a program that’s designed to  help you lose the right amount of body fat. The program provides different products, including shakes and snack bars. Plus, personalized support, online tools, and a reward program to motivate you on your weight loss journey. I received one packet that I was supposed to blend with 1/2 cup of my favorite fruit and 1 cup of skim milk. I substituted the skim milk for plain water since I don’t believe in anything non-fat. I think none-fat foods are tasteless and non-nutritional. My shake came out looking really good. But if only I could get it to go down! That shake tastes nasty…..for  lack of a better word, a stronger adjective. Since there is no way I was going to waste it, I put it in the fridge hoping that it would taste better when I try it again, but it tasted the same. I finally got it down with the help of a straw. To me, it tasted like pure flour. It has a little bitter taste, too. On top of that, I did not get the energy promised. I felt really hungry  less than two hours later. What was supposed to be a complete balanced meal turned into a light snack. I am not a fan. I guess I will continue to eat my traditional solid breakfast.

Shame it wasn't so great. I take a whey protein shake and I have to mix it with fruit or strawberry jam because the taste isn't great, haha. But, it does take a bit to get it down. You're doing great though doll xx

Oh my, you scared just reading the flavor! I avoid this drinking and for me your solid breakfast is always the best choice as for me is the most important meal of the day. Eat fruit, milk, cereals and yogurth, they are good and make u feel more energetic! Kisses Nerline! xo

Thanks, Kizzy. I just don't understand why they have to taste so bad.

Thanks for this so very honest review! I tried a shake similar to this before and I all I could think of was "chalk". . . No Likey. Nothing beats a flavorfull meal. Much Hugs!!

That is so true, Neti! It does taste like chalk.

Great post. I'm very picky about picking protein powders. One that I have been loving for years is the Nature's Plus spiru-tien in strawberry flavor.

+1 for a real breakfast! That gritty tasteless paste is why I stir clear of protein powders and weight loss drinks!

Thanks for being apart of #FitnessFriday chica!

Its funny you just posted this because I'm actually looking for a shake or smoothie mix that I can drink for breakfast. I'm always on the go in the morning and don't always have time to make the breakfast I want. Unfortunately it looks like if you're not forking out the big bucks, the shake won't keep you full for any longer than 2 hours 🙁

Thanks, babe! It was really hard to swallow.

I've never tried Shaklee. This sounds like a great product. Have a terrific weekend!

Breakfast is not my favorite meal of the day but I rather eat it than drink it anyday 🙂

Hahaha! My mom used to be a rep for Shaklee, but years ago! They were know for their weight loss shakes and vitamins. Pretty reputable brand, why not try it with the skim milk? It'll probably taste a whole lot better than plain water.
