My opinion
BioSilk CLEANSE Hydrating Shampoo is one of those products that you would want to work; especially after getting a 34-ounce bottle. My sister bought this shampoo for me a few months ago. I was happy to see the word hydrating on the bottle, as my hair gets dry sometimes. I have to say that the shampoo did nothing to remove product build-ups from my scalp. It left each strand of my hair coated and feeling greasy. It felt like an extra dose of oil was added to my hair. My hair felt heavy, like some of the buildups traveled from my scalp to the hair shaft and decided to find a permanent place to stay. I did not want to keep using the shampoo to remove the build-ups because I was afraid of the damage that it could cause to my hair.
The shampoo did create a good lather, but lots of bubble doesn’t always mean better results when it comes to sulfate-free shampoos. Instead of feeling soft, my hair felt slightly sticky. I did love the light scent and the consistency of the shampoo. The packaging is great because it helps you dispense the shampoo with ease. I also think that it is a little too expensive.
My hope is to be able to create some kind of concoction that will help this shampoo work for me. I will try to mix it with my sulfate shampoos on wash days; maybe that will help.
The bottom line
If you wash your hair every other day, this shampoo might work for you. But if you use heavy oils like Jamaican black castor oil on your scalp and wash your hair once a week, this shampoo may not work for you. I think this shampoo wash designed for women with extremely dry hair.
Have you tried this shampoo before?

Seen this before but really didn't give it much thought. Judging your review, I will continue to look the other direction when I see it. 🙂

I haven't tried this before… but am curious about it… I wash my hair 2-3 times per week… well… when I say wash, at least conditioner/rinse… always on the look out for good products… but doesn't sound like this is the best…

I haven't tried it either, but I don't have dry hair, so I keep my triple thingy. Gosh I love that shampoo, can you tell 😉 and I love you too, babe.

Nerline, the products coming out with the word HYDRATING on them have truly disappointed me. The last one damaged my hair. I avoid.

I've never tried this product from their line, but I have tried the silk therapy product they have. It's really amazing – that might be a better product to try next time.
