7 Simple Protective Styles For Natural Hair

I am a big fan of protective styling. A protective style is any hairstyle that protects your ends against dryness and anything else that can cause breakage. Natural hair loves moisture. Whenever your hair gets in contact with fabrics that sucks in the moisture, the hair is prone to breakage. Mother nature can also be tough on your hair.  Dealing with cold wind is no joke! I have zero tolerance for the dry scalp that comes with winter. Talking about this makes me think about the sweaty and oily scalp that comes with summer also. Thank God for spring and fall!

7 Simple Protective Styles For Natural Hair

I love protective styling because it stops me from manipulating my hair.  I still manage to touch my daughter’s hair when I am wearing a protective style, that’s how bad the disease is. Short-term protective styles are great for people like me. You don’t have to commit to 3 months. Short-term protective styles are simple. It does not take 8 hours to create them, and they can last you up to one week. After one week, you can undo the style, and have access to your hair again. It’s that simple!

I live for a cute updo/bun. I like how you can add a hairband or another hair accessory and go from the gym to dinner with ease. That last high bun was my fave.
