Happy New Year! Are you excited about what the Universe has in stores for you? I am excited every time I get an opportunity for a do-over. Last year was very challenging. Like everybody else, I had my ups and downs. I did not go to church as often as I did the previous year. I felt guilty because the reason I did not go as often was because of work. We did well financially, but I felt so empty. We also did a lot of things with the kids that kept me happy for a while, then I felt the void again. This year I want to set new goals and manage my time better. That’s why I want to share with you 5 Things You Can Do To Make 2019 Your Best Year Ever! I know it’s going to be my best year ever because I am going to do the exact same things.
5 Things You Can Do To Make 2019 Your Best Year Ever
1. Set Goals
I am not big on new year’s resolutions, but I like to set goals. Setting goals doesn’t mean you are going to accomplish them in one year. It means that you have a clear vision of what you want to accomplish. And having your ideas written down is a good way to stay motivated. It also gives you something to look forward to; something to work towards.
2. Try Something new:
Learn something new. If you are a blogger, learn how to use Pinterest to grow your blog. I am already trying that and it is working! Make time to try something you’ve always wanted to try. Changing your daily routine can also improve your memory and decrease your chances of getting dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
3. Use Your time wisely
If you want to lose track of time, open your Instagram app. Social media can be so distracting and addictive. It’s important to set priorities. I like to make a mental note of everything that I have to do the next day. If something comes up and I have to cancel, I still try to get as much done as possible so I don’t feel overwhelmed the next day. Spending less time on social media is challenging, but it can be done. Take it from the person who used to post on Instagram everyday.
4. Focus on yourself
Helping others is rewarding. It makes us feel great about ourselves. But we cannot give what we don’t have. I worked night shift for over 9 years to avoid putting my children in daycare. When I started to get sick because I was not getting enough sleep, I stopped working that shift. Listen to your body. Do what makes you happy. If something is not working, It’s okay to let it go.
5. Take Risks
Do something that scares you once in a while. You are more powerful than you think. I used to let other people’s negative opinion affect me. I don’t do that anymore. Some people want you to stay at the same spot you were five years ago. It’s okay. That’s their vision. That’s why you need to have a different vision for yourself. My bold move last year was taking my tripod in public and took my own pictures. It was the scariest thing I did, but I felt free after I did it.
The water might be freezing cold, warm, or hot. You won’t know until you set your foot in it. My husband always says if you are not growing, you are dying. So take chances and live on!
This is a very beautiful Post to start off the new year; I do not like to make New Year Resolutions too; I just pray and strive to be a better Me. The tips and information on here are very helpful especially the information about using our time wisely. Also, I hope to exercise more this year and eat more veggies..:-)

I want more veggies too, but I want to grow them. Thanks doll.
Great, great tips Sis. I love your point about “Taking Risks” and your Hubs was right when he said if “you’re not growing your dying”. Time to grow, Time to love Thyself and Time to Enjoy every minute of everyday. . .

Well thank you for the tips here sis. Very helpful! Well done on being able to take your photos by yourself in public. It was one of my goals last year, but I couldn’t do it. I’m just too shy to do it. I get too anxious. Ha!! Will try this year.
Wishing you all the best this year. Here’s to a blessed and healthy year. Much love and thank you for being in my life via the internet.

this is a very insightful article. focusing on yourself is one thing that most of us neglect especially when you are a mom. you tend to always put others well being before yours.
