There are obviously more than 5 things that I am so thankful for this year, but I want to share with you the ones that are so close to my heart. Love is of course the first thing on my list. Like a wise man once said, “If I don’t have love, I have nothing. ” Can you guess who that man was? It’s very important to be thankful for what we have. I still remember when I prayed for the things that I have now. Of course I was impatient then. One thing I learned about being impatient is feeling the hunger. That girl was hungry for more. I was at a very bad point in my life and I wanted a way out. I wanted everything to happen at once, but God had His timing. He still does. And having what I have now makes me believe that I can get even more! I just have to be patient and thankful for what I already have.
5 Things That I Am So Thankful For This Year
1. My home and a safe Neighborhood
We live in a very safe neighborhood, where everybody has respect for each other. We’ve been living in this area for over 13 years and I have never heard of any robbery or shooting. This is important to me because I am from a very rough neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. I wanted to raise my children in a safe home and environment, and God made that happen for me.
2. My marriage
I thank God for giving my husband and I ways to figure out our problems and come up solutions. Marriage is hard, y’all. It is a full time job. My husband is my rock. Just like me, he is not perfect. We’ve been married for 13 years and we have never fought over money. He has never disrespected me in any kind of way. But we disagree on certain things sometimes, like any normal couple.
3. My health
Every year I think about those who will be spending Thanksgiving in a hospital instead of their homes. Being healthy is such a great blessing because if we are not healthy we cannot help others. And being sick sucks.
4.Support from family and friends
I am grateful for the support that I get from my family and my friends. The blogging community and my Insta friends are my support system away from home. My husband is the brain behind the blog. He rarely takes pictures for me for the blog, but he is good when it comes to negotiating deals and coming up with good ideas for a blog post.
5. Alone time
I don’t know about you, but I take Alone Time very seriously. Being able to retire into a little corner, (AKA my closet) to enjoy a good book and a glass of wine is like winning the lottery for me. I am thankful for my husband because he understands how important being alone means to me.
What about you? What are you thankful for?
Beautiful post Nerline! These are truly things to be thankful for. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks Pilar!
These are perfect things to be thankful for. I don’t think many take the time out to realize the things they have to be thankful for. They’re just looking for the next thing to be given their way. I am thankful for my family, health, safety and alone time too. It is so needed alone time to just readjust myself as work and children will drain everything out of you. I hope you have a great day x

You are so right, doll. Thanks for sharing with us.
Being thankful is so important. It helps you realise what you have. Girl, being married for 13 whole years is an achievement. I’ve been married for just two years and I know it is so not easy. But I pray that in 11 years, I’ll be where you are today and feeling thankful for 13 years.
