I love floral dresses, especially those that I can transition from summer to fall. I got this floral dress at Kohl’s last week, but both the cardigan and the straw bag are from my local thrift shop. The sandals are by Steve Madden. I got them on Amazon about two years ago. A cute cardigan doesn’t only keep you warm in the office. It’s a great fashion piece to have when you want to easily transition your floral dress into fall, especially during early fall. Today I want to share with you 3 ways you can style your little floral dress with a cardigan. I styled the dress with and without a belt, but it really depends on where you are going.

No Belt

I like to go without a belt when I want a breezy, laid back kind of look. I feel more comfortable this way. If am going to a school meeting or just picking up the kids from school, a belt is not really necessary and that makes the outfit look less professional.
Belt Under
For a business/office casual outfit, I like to wear a skinny belt over the floral dress, but under the cardigan. The belt is a great way to add a waistline if you if you are wearing a flowy dress. And having the cardi open also adds a little sexiness to the outfit. It makes the dress flook flirtier, in my opinion.
Belt Over
The half-buttoned cardi with the belt over it is my favorite way to style my little dress for church. This style is also great for the office. Adding a hat or a scarf will not hurt this look at all. As we get deeper into fall, you can swap the open-toe shoes for knee-high boots.
